Distinct silhouettes. Worse impulse control. These are cartoon machines with cartoon operators — not a hiring poster.

  • Will: a compact red excavator with the bucket cocked for a smoosh attack and flame decals on the house.

    “If it’s still a shape, I’m not finished.”

    Compact red machine, forward lean, bucket always already in the air. Will treats every object like it slid into his DMs and asked for smoke. Holds the unofficial record for most I meant to do that in a single take. Favorite move: running smoosh. Least favorite: waiting.

  • Kody: a long, low electric-blue excavator with racing stripes, a spoiler, and the number 88.

    “Blue machine. Blue flame. Mystery dirt bonus incoming.”

    Low-slung electric blue, racing stripes, spoiler he does not need. Kody narrates his own highlight reel and will drift a 40-tonner around a cone if you dare him. The cone did not survive the dare. Thinks “idle” is a personal insult. Dirt-kart brain, excavator body.

  • Glen: a bulky forest-green excavator with a tall boom, wide tracks, and a tiny plant in the cab.

    “I asked the dirt how it was feeling.”

    Wide tracks, tall boom, forest-green house, tiny plant in the window. Glen will lecture you about soil composition for ten minutes, then flatten a fridge like it owed him rent. Slow. Considerate. Suddenly not. The quietest boom on the crew — until it isn’t.

  • Russell: a construction-yellow excavator with black hazard stripes, extra cab lights, and a clipboard on the door.

    Classic yellow, hazard-stripe roof, extra lights, clipboard on the door. Megaphone energy. Has never finished a safety briefing before someone yells FINAL SMOOSH. Loves this job. Pretends he doesn’t. The only adult on a pile that voted against adulthood.
